No-Cool Diagnosis
Testing of electrical components, controls, airflow, temperatures and refrigerant-system operation.
Residential AC service
EMH Mechanical repairs, replaces and installs residential central air conditioning. We diagnose the equipment, refrigerant system, airflow, controls and drainage before recommending the next step.

Check the whole cooling system
Central air conditioning depends on the outdoor equipment, indoor coil, blower, ductwork, thermostat, refrigerant circuit and condensate drainage.
A problem in any of those areas can cause poor cooling, high humidity, ice buildup, water leakage or equipment shutdown. We test the system before deciding what should be repaired.
Residential cooling work
Air conditioning service and installation for existing homes, additions, renovations and homes adding central cooling for the first time.
Testing of electrical components, controls, airflow, temperatures and refrigerant-system operation.
Repair of failed capacitors, contactors, motors, controls and other serviceable cooling components.
Removal and replacement planned around the home, indoor equipment, ductwork and cooling load.
Cooling installation for homes without existing AC when the furnace, ductwork and utilities can support it.
Operating-pressure, temperature and leak diagnosis before refrigerant-related repair is recommended.
Indoor and outdoor coil concerns, condensate drains, drain pans and condensate-pump service.
Cooling controls, standard and smart thermostats and related low-voltage diagnosis.
Blower setup, return-air problems and duct restrictions that affect cooling and dehumidification.

Diagnosis before parts
A system can stop cooling because of an electrical failure, airflow problem, dirty or damaged coil, refrigerant leak, drainage issue or control problem. The symptom alone does not identify the repair.
We test the equipment and document what we find before recommending repair or replacement.
Request AC DiagnosisRepair or replace?
Many cooling failures can be repaired. We look at the failed component, coil condition, compressor operation, repair history, refrigerant system and condition of the indoor equipment.
Replacement may make more sense when the AC has a major refrigerant-system failure, repeated breakdowns or other problems beyond the immediate repair.
AC replacement process
We review the existing cooling equipment, furnace or air handler, ductwork, electrical and installation space.
Equipment and scope are selected around the home, cooling load, budget and requested performance.
We confirm equipment, access, outdoor placement, timing and work that must be completed by others.
The old equipment is removed and the new indoor coil, outdoor unit, line connections and drainage are completed.
We operate the system, check temperatures and airflow and provide applicable warranty information.
Residential installation warranty
Qualifying residential air conditioning installations include EMH Mechanical's transferable 12-year labor warranty. If the homeowner sells, the coverage can stay with the home under the warranty terms.
*Equipment registration, maintenance and other warranty terms apply.
EMH Mechanical installs Bryant cooling equipment and builds options around the home, system match, efficiency target and budget.

Air conditioning questions
If the AC breaker keeps tripping, the equipment is smoking or wiring appears damaged, leave the system off and schedule service.
Make sure the thermostat is set to cool, the temperature setting is below the room temperature and the furnace or air-handler switch and breakers are on. Check the filter if it is easy to reach. If the breaker trips again after being reset, leave it off and schedule service.
Possible causes include a dirty filter or coil, airflow restriction, failed outdoor component, refrigerant problem, thermostat issue or an equipment problem inside the home. Testing is needed before the cause can be confirmed.
A frozen coil can be caused by low airflow, a refrigerant problem, a failed blower or another operating issue. Shut the cooling system off and allow the ice to melt before service so the equipment can be tested properly.
Repair may make sense when the failure is isolated, parts are available and the rest of the system is in serviceable condition. We also consider equipment age, repair history, refrigerant system condition and the cost of the proposed repair.
Square footage is only one factor. Windows, insulation, air leakage, home layout, ductwork and the cooling load all affect equipment selection. A larger air conditioner is not automatically better and can create comfort and humidity problems.
Yes, when the existing furnace, electrical service, ductwork and installation space can support it. We review the indoor equipment, airflow, outdoor location, line-set route, drainage and electrical requirements before building the scope.
Qualifying residential installations include EMH Mechanical's transferable 12-year labor warranty. Manufacturer coverage and registration requirements vary by equipment. Final warranty terms are included with the installation paperwork.
