The plans are only the starting point. Equipment locations, ceiling space, structure, utilities, roof work and other trades all affect how the HVAC system gets installed.
We review the scope, identify missing information and coordinate field conditions before they turn into change orders or schedule problems.

Custom work usually comes with more equipment choices, special rooms, finished basements, zoning, higher-end ventilation and changes during the build. We price the scope clearly and work through the details with the builder.
Repeatable pricing without cutting the installation standard.
For repeat floor plans and larger developments, we can organize pricing by model, option and equipment package. That gives the builder a cleaner number and helps keep field decisions consistent from one house to the next.
Mechanical systems coordinated with the building and its use.
Commercial work may include rooftop equipment, exposed or concealed ductwork, outside air, exhaust, makeup air, controls and specialty ventilation. We coordinate the installation with the plans, structure, roof and other trades.

Our remaining items are closed out and warranty information is turned over for the home.

What do you need to price a new-construction project?+
Send the current architectural and mechanical plans, specifications, equipment requirements, project address and expected schedule. For tenant buildouts, include the equipment schedule, ventilation requirements and available information about the existing building systems.
Do you handle both residential and commercial construction?+
Yes. We quote custom homes, repeat residential plans, developments, commercial buildings, tenant buildouts and major renovations. Each proposal is organized around the plans, schedule and actual mechanical scope.
What can a complete new-construction HVAC scope include?+
Depending on the project, our scope can include heating and cooling equipment, rooftop units, ductwork, registers and diffusers, controls, fresh air, exhaust, makeup air, gas piping, startup and final testing. The proposal identifies exactly what EMH Mechanical carries and what remains by others.
Can EMH Mechanical handle commercial ventilation and exhaust?+
Yes. We install fresh-air, exhaust and makeup-air systems, along with residential bath, kitchen and dryer ventilation. Commercial kitchen ventilation and other specialty systems are priced from the approved plans and equipment requirements.
Do you provide gas piping on construction projects?+
Yes. We can include gas piping for HVAC equipment and other listed appliances when it is part of the contracted scope. The proposal identifies the connected equipment, routing assumptions and exclusions.
Can you provide temporary heat during construction?+
Temporary heat can be included when the project needs it. The equipment, fuel, power, protection and responsibility for operating the temporary system must be agreed on before it is placed in service.
What warranty applies to new-construction work?+
Qualifying residential installations include EMH Mechanical's transferable 12-year labor warranty. Commercial work includes a one-year labor warranty unless the contract states otherwise. Manufacturer coverage and registration requirements vary by equipment.
Where do you take on new-construction work?+
Our primary construction territory covers Northern Oakland County, Northern Macomb County, St. Clair County, Genesee County and Lapeer County. Larger commercial projects and developments outside that core area can be reviewed based on location, schedule and scope.
