The whole system matters
The failed part is not always the full story.
An electrical issue can look like a bad motor. Poor airflow can cause a furnace to overheat or an air conditioner to freeze. Low refrigerant means there is a leak somewhere—it is not something the system used up.
Good service work means testing far enough to find the actual problem. That is how we avoid replacing parts that did not need to be replaced.

Do you repair both residential and commercial HVAC equipment?+
Yes. EMH Mechanical services residential furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, mini-splits and ventilation equipment. We also work on commercial rooftop units, split systems, boilers, controls, economizers, VFDs and ventilation systems.
What information should I have when I call?+
Tell us the property address, what the system is doing, when the problem started and whether the equipment is running at all. A model number, equipment age, thermostat message or photo can also help, but do not remove panels or reach into the equipment to get it.
Will you tell me what the repair costs before doing the work?+
Once the problem has been diagnosed, we explain what failed and review the recommended repair before moving forward. Some problems require additional testing or more than one repair step. If that happens, we will explain it instead of guessing at the final answer.
Can you repair a system that another company installed?+
Yes. We service equipment installed by other contractors. Existing installation problems, code issues or previous repairs may affect the work needed, and we will point those out if we find them.
How do I know whether to repair or replace my HVAC system?+
We look at the failed part, equipment age, condition, refrigerant type, repair history and the cost of the repair. If the rest of the system is in reasonable shape, repair may make sense. If the repair is expensive and the equipment has other problems, replacement may be the better use of the money.
Do you service boilers and hydronic heating systems?+
Yes. We diagnose and repair many residential and commercial boiler systems, including pumps, zone controls, valves, piping and common operating problems. Call with the equipment information and a description of the issue.
Do you offer commercial rooftop unit service?+
Yes. We service packaged rooftop units and related controls, economizers, blower systems, gas heat, refrigerant circuits and electrical components. Building access and roof access should be discussed when the call is scheduled.
